Group Therapy

DBT Group Thursdays at 3pm-430pm via telehealth

General Description: A structured therapeutic group designed to help individuals develop skills to manage emotional dysregulation, interpersonal conflicts, and distressing situations. Meets weekly and requires a commitment from group members for a minimum of six months.

 

Adolescent DBT Based Group: Wednesdays at 4pm via telehealth

Morgan Walker, LMHC (Denison/Ida Grove)

General Description: A structured therapeutic group for high school aged adolescents (14-18) designed to help individuals develop skills to manage emotional dysregulation, interpersonal conflicts, and distressing situations. Meets weekly and requires a commitment to engage in and outside of session with skills learned.  Parental consent is also required.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a systematic, evidence-based cognitive-behavioral program designed to reduce substance use, criminal thinking, and recidivism by improving moral reasoning, decision-making, and behavior. This group is adults only.

 

Parenting with Love: Mondays at 4pm via telehealth

Rebecca Bailey, CADC (Spirit Lake)

Learn how past attachments shape your parenting and mental health.  Build stronger bonds with your children and health from attachment-related trauma. Must have a substance use diagnosis.

 

Parenting in Recovery (must be DHS involved) Tuesdays 6pm via telehealth

This group focuses on parenting skills, emotional regulation, anger management and relapse prevention.  Also helps with DHS/HHS case plan requirements. Must have a substance use diagnosis.

 

Teen Journaling; Ongoing

Wednesday 3-4pm on zoom

Teen journaling group is an opportunity to meet with other teens that are dealing with similar situations. Together you can explore who you are, how substances have affected yourself and family.  We will explore change, personal inventories and build a plan for our futures. We will take into consideration good coping skills and how these can be used in every day life.

 

(Women’s Trauma) Helping Women Recover: Substance Usage & Trauma Focused: Ongoing

Helping Women Recover is a program specifically designed to meet the unique needs of women who are addicted to alcohol and other drugs or have co-occurring disorders. The Helping Women Recover program utilizes holistic healing to address four key issues women in recovery face of self, relationships, sexuality, and spirituality.  Topics that are covered in sessions include: defining self, sense of self, self-esteem, family of origin, mothers, mother myths, interpersonal violence, creating healthy relationships and support systems, sexuality and addiction, body image, sexual identity, sexual abuse, fear of sex while clean and sober, spirituality, prayer and meditation, and creating a vision.
