According to a recent Gallup survey that measured the well-being of people in every state, nearly one in five Americans takes a daily drug to alter mood and help him- or herself relax. This drug use stems from feelings of unhappiness that vary across state lines, with people in some states feeling less happy than those in other states. Many of the states with the highest rates of drug use also have the highest rates of obesity, which seems to indicate that many are unhappy about their appearance. Of course, reasons for unhappiness transcend state lines and vary widely. Those finding it necessary to take drugs to assuage their feelings may want to consider talk therapy to resolve their unhappiness.
