Kim received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1992 from Briar Cliff College and her LBSW in 2000. She has over 30 years in the non-profit human services sector including 15 years at Plains Area Mental Health, Inc. At Plains, Area Kim has held the positions of Branch Director, Director of Outreach & Compliance and is now serving as CEO/President of Plains Area. She is responsible for the direction and oversight of all aspects of the agency which includes and annual budget of over 8 million dollars, 100 staff and 8 outpatient offices across northwest Iowa, and a 24-hour Crisis Stabilization home. Angela is a therapist and clinical supervisor at Plains Area Mental Health and has been working at the center since 2016. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and Communication Studies at South Dakota State University. She completed her graduate work at the University of Iowa with a Master’s in Social Work. Angela has been working with individuals and families of all ages for several years. She has worked as an in-home worker assisting at risk families, a social worker in long-term care facilities, and a social worker and bereavement coordinator for individuals and families receiving hospice care.
