Practicum/Internship – Social Work (Graduate) – Psychotherapy/Micro-Level

Plains Area Mental Health Center is looking for an intern seeking college credit for completion of a graduate social work degree. Interns should have primary professional goals related to the areas of mental health psychotherapy or master’s level social work. Candidates planning to work for the agency post-graduation are given preference.

This is an unpaid position with opportunities for full time employment. In some cases, students may qualify for a mixed practicum/internship combined with a bachelor’s level position at the agency. Both the practicum/internship and paid position will need to be applied for separately. Strong decision-making skills as well as problem-solving skills are required. Practicum students/interns will fill out a full application online, provide a resume and participate in a full interview process.

Position Summary:

Practicum Students/Interns will shadow or function as a secondary clinician performing duties of biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, support groups, participate in clinical staffing and community outreach.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Level Student
  • Strong decision-making skills as well as problem-solving skills are required.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance
